Welcome to Synergi’s Remembrance as Resistance podcast, where we are building an oral history of learnings from archivists, artists and organisers working at the intersection of racial justice and mental health. In this podcast series, we explore themes around abolition, resistance, community and alternative modes of storytelling in order to share and re-imagine our histories.

For our first podcast episode, Alaina from Synergi speaks to Hamja Ahsan an award winning  artist, writer, curator and activist best known for his book Shy Radicals: Antisystemic Politics of the Militant Introvert . He was the founder of the DIY Cultures festival that ran from 2013-2017 in London.

In this episode, Alaina from Synergi speaks with Hamja about building alternative worlds through making zines and reimagining our histories.

Hamja is facilitating a zine workshop with us on Thursday 6th March about the relationship between zines, fast food and race struggle.
