“My dream is a world without hatred”
Experiences of racism of local people seeking asylum
Anti-migrant hate is on the rise across the UK, but the voices of people seeking asylum are rarely heard. This zine from Mr Boy Cookery School CIC provides a rare opportunity to listen to the experiences and dreams of this community in their own words.
In the wake of the racist riots of summer 2024, Kazem Ashourzadeh partnered with Asylum Link Merseyside to hold a series of cooking workshops. This zine was produced using transcripts from those cooking sessions where people seeking asylum reflected on their experiences of racism, how they feel about anti-migrant narratives in the media, and their hopes for the future.
