(Neo)colonial pathologies survival, resistance and change
by O S King, she/they
This piece asks a series of questions. How do we establish a sense of self in non-linear recovery from mental health illnesses? How do we (re)construct our voice? How do we re-engage with societal conventions, captialist structures and medical institutions, that oppress, judge, pathologise and moderate QTIPoC behaviour? Historically, mental health directly relates to the scale of represssion both personal and social – how do we survive? What is the cost?
