Abolition in Practice: Loving Justice Under Unloving Systems

How do we navigate conflict in a world where justice and love are in short supply? How can we be both deeply responsive to the harms as well as be guided by our vision for the world we want?
In this session, we will explore some of the complexity for Black People and People of Colour in navigating topics like justice and love, and some of the ancestral ways of navigating conflict that are known to us.
- What works and doesn’t work for us?
- Is love a meaningful thing to be talking about in the context of justice?
- What specific situations have come up for us and what might abolitionist perspectives bring to these situations?
This session is open to people who have been to previous sessions as well as to those who haven’t. We are not assuming you will be experts in this field nor that you necessarily agree with everything shared in the group but please bring a willingness to consider abolitionist perspectives.
